Terms and Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to FirstDoor. By using our services as a Property Manager, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of FirstDoor in connection with renting properties to applicants covered by our rental guarantee service.
Eligibility and Registration
Property Managers must provide accurate business information and any required documentation upon registration.
By registering, you confirm that you are authorized to act on behalf of the property or properties you manage and have the legal right to enter into binding agreements.
Services Provided
FirstDoor acts as a financial co-signer or guarantor for approved renters, covering specific rent payments and reducing the risk of non-payment. This service allows Property Managers to confidently approve renters who may not meet standard requirements.
Our platform provides a guarantee for rent payments and, in some cases, coverage for damages, subject to the terms outlined in each renter’s agreement.
Property Manager Responsibilities
Accurate Information: You must provide complete and accurate information about the rental properties listed on FirstDoor.
Compliance with Fair Housing Laws: All decisions related to tenant selection must comply with Fair Housing and anti-discrimination laws.
Timely Notifications: You are required to notify FirstDoor immediately of any missed payments, damages, or other issues that may affect the renter’s standing under our guarantee.
Rental Payment Guarantee
Coverage: FirstDoor provides a guarantee for covers up to 1,000 $ for damage and one month of unpaid rent or as specified in the individual agreement with the renter.
Claim Process: In the event of non-payment, you must submit a claim to FirstDoor within the specified timeframe, providing necessary documentation (e.g., lease agreement, payment records) for review.
Limitations: The guarantee may not cover costs outside of unpaid rent, such as utility expenses or legal fees, unless otherwise stated in the agreement.
Conditions for Payment Claims
Claims must be submitted with all relevant income documents used during the tenant's application process, including the copies of original lease agreement, payment history, records of all efforts made to collect past due rent, including any notices issued, and proof of non-payment.
Reimbursement for repair costs related to property damage is subject to these conditions:
  • The Property Manager must inform the Company about property damage when the unit is vacated.
  • The Company reserves the right to inspect the damage before repairs are made.
  • The Property Manager must provide a detailed final accounting, including all charges, credits, Move-In and Move-Out inspection reports, condition photos, and itemized receipts and invoices for repair costs and any associated legal fees.
FirstDoor reserves the right to review each claim to ensure compliance with the terms, and payments will only be made if all conditions are met.
Privacy and Data Security
All property and tenant data shared with FirstDoor must comply with relevant data privacy laws. We prioritize data security and protect the information you share with us.

Fees and Payment
FirstDoor does not charge Property Managers any fees for listing properties. However, certain optional services or features may be subject to fees, which will be disclosed separately.
Payment claims will be made in accordance with the guarantee and the terms agreed upon with the renter.
Termination and Suspension
Voluntary Termination: You may discontinue using our platform at any time, subject to fulfilling any outstanding obligations related to renters approved through our guarantee.
Platform Termination: FirstDoor reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms, misuse of the platform, or failure to comply with applicable laws.
Limitation of Liability
FirstDoor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the use of our services or failure to secure rental income.
Our liability for any claims arising from the use of our platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by the Property Manager, if applicable, for services related to the claim.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the jurisdiction specified by FirstDoor.
Property Managers waive the right to pursue any claims in a court of law unless expressly prohibited by law.
Modifications to Terms
FirstDoor reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions. Property Managers will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the platform implies acceptance of the revised terms.
