Welcome to FirstDoor. By using our services as a renter, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined below. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of FirstDoor to apply for and receive rental guarantee or co-signer services.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction.
You must provide accurate and complete information during the application process, including valid identification, proof of income, and any other required documents.
Services Provided
FirstDoor acts as a financial co-signer or guarantor for renters who need assistance meeting landlord rental requirements. Our platform guarantees rent payments in case of default under the agreed terms with your landlord.
Consent to Background and Soft Credit Checks
By applying for our services, you consent to background checks, soft credit checks, and any necessary identity verifications. These checks are essential for determining eligibility for the guarantee services.
You agree to provide necessary consent forms and required information for these verifications.
Fees and Payment
The renter guarantee service fee is calculated based on the rent amount and is a percentage of your annual or monthly rent. This fee will be specified in the service agreement provided upon approval.
Fees must be paid promptly, and failure to do so may result in the suspension or cancellation of the guarantee.
Obligations as a Renter
Payment of Rent: You are required to pay your rent on time as agreed in your lease with the landlord. FirstDoor will only cover missed payments under specific conditions outlined in the guarantee agreement.
Reporting Changes: You must notify FirstDoor of any changes in your employment status, income, or other financial conditions that could impact your ability to pay rent.
Honest Representation: Providing false or misleading information may result in the immediate termination of your agreement with FirstDoor.
Limitations of Guarantee Coverage
Our guarantee typically covers up to 1000 $ for damage and one month of unpaid rent or as specified in the individual agreement.
The guarantee may not cover utility costs, or other non-rent expenses unless otherwise specified in the service agreement.
Termination and Cancellation
FirstDoor reserves the right to terminate your coverage if you violate these Terms and Conditions, provide inaccurate information, or fail to make timely payments on service fees.
You may also request termination of the service, provided you give written notice in advance, subject to the terms of the agreement.
Privacy Policy
All personal information collected is subject to our Privacy Policy and is protected under applicable data protection laws. We take all necessary steps to ensure that your information remains confidential and secure.
Limitation of Liability
FirstDoor shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or any failure to secure housing through our platform.
Our liability in any case shall not exceed the total fees paid for our services by you.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes related to these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the jurisdiction specified by FirstDoor. You waive the right to pursue any claims in a court of law.
Changes to Terms and Conditions
FirstDoor reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of our services implies acceptance of the updated terms.
